Our Family
Our family created Friends of Vail as a way to honor Vail’s life, her joyful spirit, and the dreams she held so close to her heart. Through Vail’s Tales and the work of the Foundation, we hope to continue sharing her light and positivity while helping more children experience the confidence, imagination, and opportunity that come through literacy and education.
Horses have also always been a meaningful part of our family’s story and remain a special connection we share. Jade, Vail’s sister, continues that passion through her role managing the Auburn University equestrian team, and together, we remain deeply connected to the horse community while carrying Vail’s legacy forward through the people, passions, and causes she loved most.
Vail was a 9-year-old girl who showed Arabian horses. She loved God, life, family and friends. Vail died unexpectedly on August 31, 2016. In life, Vail brought people together with her love of others and generous spirit. Her family formed the Friends of Vail Foundation in her honor to promote education and literacy, encourage sportsmanship, and instill confidence in our young riders.
